Bone broth has been a staple in traditional cuisines for centuries. This nutrient packed stock contains minerals, vitamins and electrolytes that are easy for the body to absorb and assimilate. Use bone broth in your diet to improve digestive function, lose weight and strengthen your immunity.
- 4 pounds of beef marrow bones or 2 pounds of chicken bones
- 2-3 quarts of filtered water
- 3 chopped celery stalks
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 1 inch ginger, peeled and chopped
- 4 garlic cloves, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 carrots, peeled and chopped
Place bones, water and vinegar in a stainless steel pot. Bring the pot to a boil and add all other ingredients. Cover the pot and bring to a simmer for 4-24 hours. When broth is done simmering, let it cool for 6o minutes, then strain broth into containers to freeze or refrigerate.
